The GFF association was launched in 2008 during the economic crisis. Its initial objective was to defend the interests of French manufacturers and set up a better dialogue with order-givers.
The GFF is financed by its members’ dues and subsidies from the Comité de Développement et de Promotion de l’Habillement (committee for the development and promotion of clothing)(DEFI).
Today the association’s mission is to bring together and defend the interests of companies in the French clothing and textile industry. The main activities of the companies concerned by its actions are manufacturing, providing services or doing other activities connected to the industry. The GFF is the national representative of their interests and a privileged spokesperson for political or administrative entities.
The GFF is a member of the Union Française des Industries Mode et Habillement (French union of fashion and clothing industries) (UFIMH). It is recognized by the public authorities and by various national and regional organizations.
